General Notarization
People have relied on notaries since ancient times to witness and authenticate signatures on important legal documents, to ensure those documents are executed properly, and prevent potential fraud. In a traditional notarization, the signer and the notary will meet and the signer will sign their document in the physical presence of the notary. Nowadays, you can also notarize documents online. The role of the notary varies from location to location and through time. As an Ohio Notary Public, I am authorized simply to witness and verify signatures, as well as administer oaths/affirmations. I am NOT an attorney and I am NOT authorized to provide you with legal advice.
Commonly notarized documents include vehicle titles, powers of attorney, affidavits, easements, and more.
We’ll choose somewhere to meet; coffee shops are a great public place to do notarizations, but if you need me to come to your home, to a healthcare facility, your workplace, or somewhere else, I’d be happy to accommodate. Whatever works for you. You will present a valid photo ID, we’ll go over the purpose of the document and fill in any blank lines, I’ll administer an oath/affirmation if necessary, you’ll sign, I’ll apply my stamp, and then you’ll sign in my journal for records.
One traditional notarial act costs $5.00 + $0.50 per mile travel fee. I accept cash, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, and Venmo. If you need a notarization done, find my contact info here or my booking calendar here.
